I had been waiting for a new release of Yakima Henry series. This did not meet my expectations. Maybe book #6 will. Peter Brandvold – Yakima Henry Bk 5 – The Savage Breed – Reviewed 6/17/21 – Read 6/7/21Trying to put the past behind him, Yakima came back to his horse ranch in Arizona to find a little closure, and to bring Faith home, after all, it was their home! He couldn’t bring her body, but he could mark the spot with rocks next to her brother. This would give her a free spirit to be with him. Heading into Saber Creek he makes camp not far from the ranch, but the next morning four bushwhackers jump him. They knocked him out taking his horse, guns, boots, and worst of all it was thirty miles to the closest town. Being mad at himself for letting someone get the one up on him, Yakima takes off after them. Tracking them led him straight to Saber Creek, first stop was the livery to check on Wolf, finding him and his gear he put on his boots and headed for the saloon. Well, what do you know, my new scumbag friends are all sitting at a table in the back playing cards, and he spotted his prized Yellow Boy leaning against the table! Now, after the death of Faith, the woman that he loved with every part of his soul, my heart just breaks for him. It will be exciting to see what Peter does with him next.What will you like?
